Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle is hosting a series of budget round table discussions in the metro. The events are open to the public and each is scheduled from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. You can watch video coverage here.

These are the locations and times of the round table discussions

  • Tuesday, July 28 | Elkhorn Common Ground | 1701 Veterans Drive
  • Wednesday, July 29 | Benson High School Library | 5120 Maple Street
  • Thursday, July 30 | Metro Community College - South Campus | Industrial Training Center Room 119 - South 27th St. & Q St.

The format for the round table discussions calls for participants to be seated in one of several areas around the room. Each designated area will be staffed by a Mayor’s Office staff member and a representative of one of the following city departments: Parks, Library, Public Works, Police and Fire.

Mayor Suttle will begin each session with an overview of the City’s 2010 budget, followed by a brief explanation of the city’s budget process by Finance Director Carol Ebdon.

Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to discuss budgeting priorities with each of the city departments in a small group setting.

At the end of the session, participants will have the option to fill out a short questionnaire about the City’s 2010 budget and the session.
