Cheryl Weston is a Democrat running in the nonpartisan contest to represent District Two on the Omaha City Council
Weston graduated from Omaha Central High School, began undergraduate education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and completed her formal education at the College of St. Mary majoring in business administration and accounting.
The candidate cites crime, a lack of economic development and troubles in education as being critical issues that need to be addressed in northeast Omaha.
She notes involvement with organizations including the Omaha Jaycees, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Midlands, Agencies Collaborative Together (ACT, an advocacy committee originated by Catholic Charities), Omaha Northeast Weed and Seed, Highlander Neighborhood Association, Nebraska AIDS Project, Coalition Against Injustice, Omaha Together One Community (OTOC), Public Safety Auditor Advisory Committee, Omaha Alliance for Justice, Creighton’s Community President Advisory Committee.
Weston is a member of Salem Baptist Church.
