| You know what's cool about Central High School?
Central has an outstanding Fine Arts program. Central won the 2008 Omaha Entertainment Awards for the best high school musical and marching band. The road show, a student variety show, has taken place continuously since 1915 and is one of the highlights of the fine arts program.
The College Board's Advanced Placement Program is the largest and most recognized credit-by-exam program in the world. The AP experience at Central High School empowers students by teaching them the skills needed for success at the college and university level. AP classes instill knowledge, competence, and confidence in high school students, offering access to college credit while still in high school. Combined with the Dual Enrollment program at UNO, student often begin their college careers as sophomores.
Finally, you can't mention Central without talking about history & tradition. First, the building is an historical landmark. Student get to learn about Omaha's history through a special course. They even research World War II Veterans that walked the hallways at Central. Some students tell us, they even got to meet some of the veterans families to hear about life at Central during the 40s.
