Do you know what's cool about Burke High School? The Rockstars. The Rockstars are students with disabilities, but Burke High School students volunteer their time to help the Rockstars on a daily basis. In fact, this is a special year for the students. They get to travel to Washington, D.C. for a field trip regarding Medicare limits for students with disabilities. Plus, they are led by their energetic teacher Ms. M.
We also got to hit the stage for a performance with the Burke High Show Choir who gave us a performance of their fall show. This group not only sings---they dance. And Seniors come up with all the choreography. They perform three shows a year. That's cool!
Finally, we hit the athletic training facility. Students here learn how to take care of athletes, but they also learn anatomy of the body and have to take tests. Students also spend a lot of time outside the classroom attending athletic events, and helping Burke's trainer. Burke has 800 athletes, so it keeps these students busy!
