Trooper Feared Swept Away in Flood

Updated: 08/02/2011 - The Missouri State Highway Patrol resumed its search Tuesday morning for a missing trooper and his dog. Trooper Fred Guthrie, Jr was last seen Monday afternoon west of Mount City, Missouri. He and his Patrol K-9 named Reed were working Missouri River flood duty in the area of Big Lake on Missouri Highway 118 when they were apparently swept away. The patrol describes the flood water in the area as swift.
