They're not yet old enough, but Wednesday they learned how to vote. Fifth-grade students at Bell Elementary School were paid a visit by Sarpy County Election Commissioner Wayne Bena, who spoke to the kids about the importance of voting and how the process works.
"Hopefully, when they come of age, they do register to vote and they start voting right away and it doesn't take them a while to realize how important it is to vote. I hope to grasp their energy and enthusiasm now so they're ready to want to be able to vote when the time comes."
The school will hold its own election next week.
