Some working mothers are taking less maternity leave.

According to Career Builder's annual Mother's Day survey, the struggle to balance career and family begins in the earliest stages of parenthood.

The survey found one in four working moms who have had a child in the last three years reported they did not take the full maternity leave allowed by their company.

One in ten took just two weeks or less. Experts say competitive work environments may be behind the trend.
