Authorities have identified a woman whose body was found in a western Iowa river.
The Cass County Sheriff's office says 31-year-old Nicole Roberts of Lewis was found dead in the West Nishnabotna River just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. Investigators say she drowned.
Authorities say Roberts was in the water near Cold Springs Park, southwest of Louis. She was last seen just south of a popular picnic area, in a part of the river known for deep water and unpredictable currents. It's also more than three-quarters of a mile from the nearest access road, which authorities say makes it difficult for emergency personnel to reach the area.
