Pleas entered in domestic assault case.
The Cassgram reports 21-year-old Jose David Rodriguez-Valenzuela will be sentenced November 7th after pleading contest to two Class I Misdemeanors, attempted terroristic threats and third degree domestic assault. The pleas came out of a plea agreement in which the prosecution amended the terroristic count down from a Class IV Felony and dismissed a Class III Felony count of use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Plattsmouth Police responded to an assault call at 6:17am on May 8th of this year at an apartment complex on South 15th Street. There officers found Rodriguez-Valenzuela’s estranged wife with a bloody nose, a cut lip and other injuries. Chief Deputy Cass County Attorney Colin Palm said the 22-year-old woman told the officers that Rodriguez-Valenzuela had sat on her, punched her and brandished a knife in her direction.
