A Lincoln woman has been sentenced to three to five years in prison for shooting her boyfriend in the chest last fall.

Twenty-nine-year-old Linda Pam was sentenced Tuesday in Lancaster County District Court.

Pam told officers that her boyfriend stopped by their apartment to get his gun on Oct. 17. She said she tried to stop him from leaving with it, the gun discharged and he ran out. She said she was not aware he had been shot.

But a friend of the man, who was waiting for him outside the apartment, told police he heard the two arguing and the man yell, "Don't point that at me," before the gunshot.

The friend drove the man to a hospital. He has since recovered.
