Lincoln police arrested a Lincoln man for domestic abuse they believe had been happening over a four-month period.
Police arrested 27-year-old Matthew Oday Wednesday for felony domestic assault. They had been looking for him since October 5th. At 6:30 p.m., officers were called to the Super Saver at 27th and Cornhusker for a disturbance between Oday and his girlfriend. When they got there, Oday was gone.
While officers were speaking with the 35-year-old woman, they noticed something shocking. "She was found with bruising on her entire body, in various stages of healing. The injuries were consistent with almost daily abuse over the last four months. In addition, she had swelling to both her wrists and ankles and patches of missing hair from where it had been pulled from her head," Officer Katie Flood said.
Oday was arrested outside his home. Police say the couple had been together for six months.
