Who Pays What In Taxes

State report on property taxes shows the percentages of property taxes paid by classification. The information is from the annual report of the Nebraska Department of Revenue Property Assessment Division.

The Cassgram obtained the list. Property taxes levied in 2012 totaled $52,347,924 in Cass County, about 3.5% more than in 2011. Below is the share breakdown by property type in the county in 2012.

Railroads $924,370 1.77%

Public Service Entities $542,943 1.04%

Commercial and Industrial Equipment $1,144,272 2.19%

Agriculture Machinery & Equipment $784,087 1.50%

Ag-Outbuildings & Farmsite Land $810,324 1.55%

Agricultural Land $11,996,022 22.92%

Commercial, Industrial and Mineral Land $3,937,678 7.52%

Residential $32,208,228 61.53%

---Cass County's property valuation increased to $2.64-billion in 2012, a 3.49% increase.
