The robbery and shooting of a store clerk in Papillion two months ago was on the mind of some merchants who attended
A police crime prevention class.
Papillion Officers provided store owners and managers with tips on what to do if a bandit walks in their doors. Papillion police offered two classes to community business people. Among them Judy Mcnew who runs a bar in downtown Papillion. Mcnew said, “Things I should do, not touch anything and keep everybody safe. Things I had not thought of before.” Dan Rathman operates a gas station. He said “usually you think go out there and be the hero and try to stop the guy. But I learned here it’s more important to do what they say.”
Papillion police had planned the seminar before the radio shack robbery in January. But that crime just raised awareness on what clerks should do when confronted by an armed robber.
