Microsoft is making gains in the mobile market and Bank of America is unrolling a new service designed to take the hassle out of online shopping. Here's the Wednesday Bloomberg After The Bell Report from the New York Stock Exchange.

Microsoft is getting an early holiday gift as sales of its new Windows Phone 8 are soaring. CEO Steve Ballmer says the devices are selling four times faster than they were at this same time last year.

Amazon is coming in tops for satisfaction in a new Harris Poll evaluating the country's major online retailers. Of the 14 companies scored, the Seattle-based company outpaced the competition on all measures.

Kohl's earned the highest marks among department stores offering a good value with L.L.Bean and Zappos earning the same top spot for clothing and apparel.

A check on trading finds stocks closed out the day higher on optimism a fiscal cliff will be averted.

If you're a Bank of America customer you'll soon be able to make your online purchases a lot faster. The bank has started offering Visa's digital wallet payment system called V.me to its online banking customers. The service allows customers to make secure payments online without having to re-enter account numbers and billing information for each purchase.
