Water Temperatures Up, Fish Biting

Monday was a perfect day for fishing on area lakes.

Out on Walnut Creek Lake in Papillion, a number of people were taking advantage of the warm weather by casting a line.

Water temperatures have risen quite a bit in the last couple weeks, making fish more active and willing to bite.

Bill McGuire was having a lot of success Monday morning right off the dock.

“See there's a whole school of them right there” he said while pointing to a spot about 40 feet from the dock. “Just got to get right on them. Chartreuse has been the best lure.”

McGuire said lower lake levels were also making it easier to catch fish.
