It's been around nearly a century. Is it the end for an elementary school in Council Bluffs?
That issue is being discussed Tuesday night.
Teresa Valyer is opposed to it closing.
Valyer says, "It's the glue that holds us all together. It's really what keeps our community a community, and it's instead of having to be part of the whole city, we are our neighborhood."
Superintendent Dr. Martha Bruckner says, "We have to be responsive to our taxpayers that pay for our schools. Our taxpayers do not want us having buildings open if in fact, we can be just as effective and efficient in other schools."
The board plans to take district recommendations along with those from the community and take some time to consider options.
