How do you explain the number one hundred to small school aged children?
At Portal Elementary in LaVista, kindergarten through second grade students were able to visualize what the number 100 looked like.
They dressed up like they were 100 years old.
There were older ladies with young hearts in the classroom along with some creative mustaches and some went for the old prospector look.
This is to celebrate the 100th day of school and also ties in with history and math lessons.
"We, the whole year are counting the days and really talking about what those numbers mean so kind of a culmination of all the days prior to this learning about the importance of the number one hundred," Second Grade Teacher Laura Darling said.
Children in all of the elementary schools in the Papillion/LaVista district participated in the "100 day festivities".
