Violin Virtuoso Coming to Lincoln After 22 Years

Violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman will highlight this year's classical music season for the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

Perlman returns to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln after 22
years for a March 31 performance at 7:30 p.m. He last performed on
campus at the opening of the center in 1990.

The world-renowned performer has four Emmy Awards and 15 Grammy
Awards for his television appearances and recordings.

Perlman collaborated with composer John Williams and performed
violin solos in Steven Spielberg's Academy Award-winning film
"Schindler's List."

Repertoire for the evening features pieces from romantic and
20th century composers Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms and Sergei

UNL associate professor of viola Clark potter will give a
pre-talk for the performance at 7 p.m. in the Lied's Steinhart
