Two people are dead and several others wounded. Their suspects are still on the loose.
"I just got a phone call about four something this morning and he told me he had been shot," said Earma Beasley, mother of victim.
This is the type of news given to several families this weekend in Omaha. Beasley's son is recovering from the shooting that happened Sunday morning on North 24th street.
Her son, Delvonne Cross, was shot in the leg.
"I spoke with him, he is doing good he is at home," said Beasley.
But not everyone made it home.
The sister of Annette Plater, who was found dead in her car Saturday morning, is struggling with why this even would happen.
"I am a little disturbed as why would someone do this, the world may not love someone the way you love them, so they are careless with someone's life," said Delena Winston, sister of victim.
Families on North 24th woke up to shell casings outside their front door.
"You know it's not safe anymore you can't go out," said Beasley.
Police are asking for any tips on any of these crimes. 402-444-7867
