The family of a 76 year old Air Force Veteran has been digging through records for proof he lived in Nebraska. That proof needed for him to be placed in a Veterans home in the state.
Harold Hast retired in Council Bluffs. He needs long term care and can be placed in an Iowa VA facility. But that would be 180 miles away from family.
Nebraska requires veterans live two years in the state to be eligible for a VA facility in Grand Island or Bellevue. So the family has been searching for proof they lived in Lincoln while Harold was stationed at the old air base.
