Vehicles in several Omaha parks have been burglarized recently.
Danny Foreman and Cody Fast of Omaha skateboard a lot at Seymour Smith Park at 72nd and Harrison. “Probably every day, if not every other day,” said Danny.
They weren't aware of a recent car break-in there. “We are just here to skate. It doesn't enter my mind when we come here. I always lock my car, but it doesn't really worry me while I'm skating.”
There was also a car break-in at Kelley Field and part of the fencing at Adam's Park was ripped out and ripped off. Despite the recent break-ins, these two aren't concerned. “I have a lot of valuables in my vehicle, but down here at Seymour it's not really a bother to me, I'm not worried about it,” said Fast.
Just in case, they are cautious. “The park is not too far from the parking lot so I can usually be within 40-50 feet of it and see if anybody is around it or looking at it weird,” said Foreman.
Both still believe Omaha parks are safe. “It's not something that really worries me,” said Fast. “I mean, break-ins down here, I don't know, it's never something that has been in the back of my mind."
The only thing on their mind is skating. If you see any suspicious activity in parks you are advised to call 911.
