A not-ever-completed restaurant building caught fire.
The Cassgram a passerby called in the structure fire in the 18000 block of Webster Boulevard. There was only a shell of the structure and the walls are made of cement block so only the roof caught fire, said Plattsmouth Fire Chief Mike Wilson. The fire department had to order that Union Pacific Railroad train traffic be stopped as fire trucks, hoses and volunteer firefighters were crossing the tracks to extinguish the fire.
The cause is not known and suspicious, said Wilson. The owners of the property were unaware of the fire and fire officials are unsure whether it was an act of vandalism or if someone who had been hopping trains may have been in the building overnight.
