A 69-year-old Omaha woman was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide for her part in a fatal motorcycle crash.

Omaha police issued a ticket to Leslie Hoberman saying she failed to yield right of way to 45-year-old Jeff Ahl who was riding his motorcycle at 157th and Pacific May 23rd.

Ahl was taken from the scene by medical helicopter but did not survive his injuries. He was wearing an approved helmet at the time of the crash.

Hoberman is known to many in Omaha for her involvement in "The Winners Circle," a motivational program to help disadvantaged school children.

Misdemeanors typically carry a maximum sentence of one year in jail and/or a fine.
