The woman injured in a crash at 72nd and Dodge earlier this month told Channel 6 News she is out of the hospital, but the road to recovery will be long. A fund has been set-up to help with medical expenses.

Twenty-six-year-old Ashley Mruz was eight months pregnant when her vehicle was hit at 72nd Dodge. Mruz had to have an emergency delivery. Her son, Macen Smiley, remains in the NICU and is expected to be there for some time.

Mruz said she continues to recover. She is thankful for all of the thoughts and prayers she has received since the crash.

Friends and family have established a fund to help with medical expenses. Donations can be made at any Bank of the West location under the name Ashley Mruz.

The passenger in Mruz's vehicle, 25-year-old Stephon Smily, suffered a facial laceration and back pain.

The driver of the car, who police say, ran a red light has been identified as 21-year-old Carlos Moore of Omaha. He and the passenger in his vehicle, 22-year-old Angel Powell, suffered only minor injuries.

Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine told Channel 6 News Tuesday that he has the case and is considering whether to file charges against Moore.
