Family and friends of Carly Anne Kelly say this is her best day yet. The teen was badly injured when the vehicle she was riding in crashed October 11th. Kelly and another teen were injured and a third teen was killed.
On Thursday, Carly was taken off of the ventilator and regained consciousness. She has been unconscious since the crash because of her severe injuries.
The second teen injured in the crash, Madeline Shely, has been moved to Madonna Rehab Center in Lincoln where she continues to recover.
Both girls are sophomores at Marian High School.
The teenager killed in the crash, 15-year-old Nate LaFave, died at the hospital. He was a student at Mount Michael in Elkhorn.
The crash happened on October 11th at 180th and Highway 370 just before 6:30 p.m.
