The National Weather Service continues the heat advisory through Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures once again on Tuesday will rise to the upper 90s however high humidity will make it feel like 105 to 110 degrees.
The University of Nebraska is asking for $91 million from the state's reserve fund to help pay for four projects aimed at improving healthcare education.
UNL President J.B. Milliken says the university system needs to turn out more nurses to fill what he calls a critical nursing shortage in the state.
Milliken on Wednesday outlined a plan to use state money for the projects, which also would use another anticipated $300 million from private donors and other sources.
The plan includes:
A new University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing
A new cancer research facility at UNMC.
An expansion of the nursing facility at the University of
And, planning and designing a new Veterinary Diagnostic Center
