Unemployment numbers in one county released. According to the Nebraska Workforce Development-Department of Labor report, the September (preliminary) unemployment rate in Cass County was 3.6%.
The Cassgram reports the breakdown: Cass County Civilian Labor Force: 13,719; Number Employed: 13,224; Not Employed 495.
The September rate was eight-tenths of a percentage lower than the county’s rate in August. The rate was at 4.9% in July, 4.4% in June and 4.1% in May.
The county unemployment was at 4.8% in September of 2011.
The September 2012 rates from neighboring counties with the change from a year earlier in [ ]: Otoe 3.5% [-1.1], Lancaster 3.1% [-0.7], Saunders 3.3% [-0.6] and Sarpy 3.6% [-0.8].
Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate for September is 3.9%, seasonally adjusted, down from the August rate of 4.0%. The September 2011 unemployment rate was 4.4%.
The seasonally‐adjusted national unemployment rate in September was 7.8%, down 0.3% from August. The September 2011 national unemployment rate was 9.0%.
