Four rural Nebraska towns will share nearly $1.9 million in loans from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to upgrade their water systems.
The USDA announced the loans this week. These loans are part of
a series of rural infrastructure projects that are expected to be
announced over the next couple weeks.
Walthill will receive a $908,000 loan to replace its sewer treatment plant.
Ashton will receive a $700,000 loan to help built a new lift station and wastewater treatment lagoons.
Benkelman will receive a $139,000 loan and an $11,000 grant to
build a new water treatment plant and install new water meters.
Wynot will receive a $105,000 loan to replace the lining on two wells and build a well house for one well.
