The U.S. Marshals office arrested Jamal Dean around one Saturday morning in Texas. He's accused of shooting an Iowa police officer after a traffic stop.
Investigators believe Dean was still in Sioux City as late as Thursday night.
The U.S. Marshals say good old fashioned police work led to Dean's arrest.
"It's kind of like putting a puzzle together. There's a lot of parts to it and a lot of pieces and each individual piece doesn't always make sense but when you put them together it kind of starts to paint a picture, and you realize what's going on," said U.S. Marshal Mike Fuller.
Authorities say Dean will be charged with attempted murder.
