27-year-od Robert Kuhfahl told WOWT 6 News he is still in shock – a week after being carjacked and run over at his parents Elkhorn home near 192nd & Blondo.
“I mean it happened quick, But I just couldn't believe it happened,” he said. “I don't know why someone would do that to someone else. I work hard for everything that I have.
Kuhfahl as on his way to go ice fishing when he stopped by his parent's house to drop off money for his dad's Christmas gift. He left his car running since he wasn't going inside for long.
He said he was inside for “maybe a minute at the most.” In that minute, he was targeted. He looked out the front door and saw two people getting in his SUV.
“I ran outside, opened the door and as soon as I opened the door they turned the wheel to the one way put it in reverse and that's when they backed over me,” he explained. He said there was a male and a female. He couldn't make out their descriptions because they were wearing hoods.
Getting run over sent him to the hospital with serious injuries. He couldn't walk for about a week “I got three broken bones in my foot, my knees banged up, hip banged up, my shoulders still messed up. I can't work now. I have an apartment to pay for, bills to pay for,” he told WOWT 6 News.
On top of that, the thieves got what he left in the car. That includes painting equipment for his family business, ice fishing gear he just purchased – and a Christmas card and money from his grandma. He also had money orders he already purchased inside the car. He said there was probably $3,000 dollars worth of belongings inside.
He said the incident also robbed him of his sense of security.
“I grew up here born here and i never had any problems with theft, he said.”
