Business administration students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are creating a code of ethics that they hope will get them noticed as they move into the business world.

The College of Business Administration students decided to market their Nebraska experience and family values.

Janice Lawrence is an associate professor and director of the college's business ethics program. She says the students wanted the ethics code to be something they could rally around and give them an advantage in the job market.

The code's four major areas include integrity, honesty, professionalism and respect and compassion.

Among the tenets: Accept responsibility for actions and be sincere and authentic in communications with others.

Students plan to announce their new code of ethics on Tuesday in the Lied Center for Performing Arts at UNL.
