The Nebraska Math & Science Summer Institutes, a program through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will offer graduate courses to K-12 Nebraska teachers in 12 locations across the state this summer at a reduced tuition rate. UNL summer course registration is now open.
As a result of Nebraska's statewide mathematics assessment, the NeSA-M, mathematics teachers at all grade levels are looking for new learning opportunities that support them in offering high quality mathematics courses to their students.
The NMSSI offer graduate mathematics and pedagogy courses using a teacher-friendly delivery model that help teachers respond to this challenge.
Each course lasts for just one or two weeks and start as soon as June 3. Detailed descriptions of the mathematics and pedagogy courses can be found online at http://scimath.unl.edu/NMSSI
All current Nebraska teachers qualify for a 20 percent reduction in graduate tuition, provided by UNL. Additional funds are available from the NMSSI to help pay for the balance of tuition. An application for this support also can be found on the NMSSI website.
