UNL Cancels Outdoor Commencement Ceremonies

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has canceled its outdoor commencement ceremonies due to bad weather.

School officials announced the decision early Saturday, just hours before the event at Memorial Stadium was set to begin. But they say graduates can receive diplomas from their college dean or associate dean at the Hawks Center on campus.

Students will be professionally photographed with their cap and gown. Family members also can take photos.

The diplomas will be distributed throughout the morning based on the student's college and a scheduled time.

Officials at the University of Nebraska at Omaha say their graduation ceremonies are still being held, but they'll be inside.
