Nebraska and Iowa colleges have been recognized in the annual U.S. News & World Report 2014 Best Online Programs rankings announced Wednesday.
The third-annual listing evaluated more than 1,000 distance education programs for bachelor’s and graduate degrees in business, education, nursing, engineering and computer technology.
Bellevue University was 18th, Nebraska Omaha 20th, Nebraska-Lincoln 74th and Creighton 201st in online Bachelor’s programs. Central Michigan University was 1st.
UNL was 11th, Iowa 61st, Creighton 87th and Peru State 166th in Graduate Education programs. Northern Illinois was 1st.
UNL was 6th, Creighton 70th and Bellevue 153rd in Graduate Business programs. Indiana University was 1st.
The publication used reputation, student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services, technology and other factors to determine the rankings. They also included peer review data based on schools' evaluations of each other and were scored on a 100-point scale with institutions receiving the most points having the highest rankings.
