Two Nebraska Army National Guard units will be welcomed home from missions to Afghanistan on Thursday, March 14, during an 11 a.m. ceremony to be held at the Nebraska National Guard's Joint Force
Headquarters building at the Nebraska National Guard air base.
Members of the Nebraska National Guard's Agribusiness Development Team No. 3 and the 43rd Operational Support Airlift Detachment recently completed deployments to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The members of ADT No. 3 were involved in helping Afghan agricultural officials and local farmers redevelop agricultural skills and infrastructure during their nearly yearlong deployment. The members of the
43rd OSA Det. were involved in a number of aviation-related missions during their nearly nine-month deployment.
Among those expected to attend tomorrow's welcome home ceremony are Gov. Dave Heineman and Maj. Gen. Judd Lyons, Nebraska adjutant general.
Due to space constraints, the ceremony is not open to the general public.
