The National Weather Service continues the heat advisory through Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures once again on Tuesday will rise to the upper 90s however high humidity will make it feel like 105 to 110 degrees.
A man and woman were killed Sunday morning when a car crashed into a commercial building at South 89th and J streets in Omaha.
Police said the accident was discovered around 7 a.m., but happened sometime earlier. OPD Sgt. Joe Collins said the driver, 28-year-old Brooke Mace of Omaha, was going southbound at a high rate of speed into the industrial area and failed to stop at a T-intersection. Her passenger, 27-year-old Claudio Perea-Perez of Omaha, also died at the scene.
There weren't any skid marks near the crash. Neither of the victims was wearing a seat belt. Investigators found copper wiring and tools inside the car.
