Two people were seriously injured in a shooting late Tuesday morning, near 40th and Bedford.

The victims are identified as 19-year-old James Reed and 48-year-old George Dotson III.

Omaha police received a report of a shooting from ShotSpotter at 40th and Bedford. Moments later, there was another report of shots fired at a home just four houses away.

According to witnesses, the victims were working on a car in the driveway when the suspect drove up and started shooting. A family member told WOWT 6 News that one victim was hit in the stomach, the other in the arm. Both men were taken to the Nebraska Medical Center.

A neighbor told WOWT 6 News that Reed had just returned to the area after receiving an Associate's Degree in auto mechanics. Charles Fultz added that Reed is a good kid who planned to set-up a shop in the area.

Omaha police said there were several people in the area when the shooting happened; however, no one admits to seeing anything. So far, no arrests have been made.
