A homeowner said the trust he put in a contractor has cracked along with the year-old driveway he had to replace.
The Better Business Bureau gives the concrete installation company an F rating and the City Of LaVista doesn't have record of a permit pulled on the original driveway project in 2010.
Trace Hansen wishes he had demanded more concrete answers from the first contractor he hired. Hansen said, "I've learned the hard way because I've had to pay twice for my driveway."
Hansen has a check for $3,000 he wrote to TNT Concrete; a man signed the name "Preston" on the proposal. The company owner said "Preston" was responsible for the workmanship and he has disappeared.
An attorney for the company said it appears from photos he's seen that the promised four inches on concrete was poured. However Hansen said a second contractor showed him that it places just two inches had been poured. That's below code.
The owner's attorney said he's still investigating the homeowner's claims, but is working to resolve the issue.
The Nebraska Attorney General is investigating.
