An alert Omaha Police K-9 Unit made an amazing arrest following a routine traffic stop.
Around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, the officer stopped a 2012 Nissan Altima with Florida license plates for a traffic violation at westbound I-80 WB & 60th Street.
The officer observed indicators of criminal activity and asked to search the vehicle. After being denied the request to search, Police Service Dog Falco was positively alerted and indicated the odor of drugs emanating from the vehicle.
Officers searched the vehicle and located 12 grams of cocaine, 25 capsules of suspected methamphetamine, 400 hits of LSD a Bushmaster AR-15 with a 37mm launcher attached along with seven magazines, an AK-47 with seven magazines, seven handguns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition in the trunk of the car.
Thirty-year-old Tia Donahue and 29-year-old Christopher Knaak, both of Kissimmee, Fl were booked into Douglas County Corrections for Possession with intent to Deliver-Cocaine, Meth, Controlled Substance (LSD) & Possession of firearm while committing a felony.
