Traffic Stops Nets Guns

Two firearms are now off Omaha streets thanks to quick work by police.

According to police reports, officers noticed a 2001 red Chevy Impala fail to signal several lane changes near 30th and Emmet on November 3rd.

The car was pulled over near 30th and Spencer.

Officers noticed open containers of alcohol and searched the vehicle.

The found 1.3 grams of cocaine that tested positive in a field test, a Kaltech .40 cal handgun and a 9mm Ruger handgun and ammunition.

Thirty seven-year-old Robert Sullivan was booked for carrying a concealed weapon, unlawful transportation of a weapon and possession of an unregistered firearm.

Thirty-nine-year-old Damien Davis was charged with possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon, unlawful transport of a firearm and possession of an unregistered firearm.

They were booked into Douglas County Corrections.

The 39-year-old driver was cited for open container and failure to signal.
