If you have a need to visit the Douglas County Department of General Assistance, the Veteran’s Services Office, and the Juvenile Assessment Center, you better take note. Those offices are moving later this month.

The offices will be located at 1111 S. 41st Street and open for business September 27. Many will remember the building as the old Goodwill site at 41st and Pacific Street.

In a statement, County Board Chair Mary Ann Borgeson said, “This move will prove to
be a great savings to the taxpayers of Douglas County. The money we will save on
renting office space and with the geothermal heating and cooling system will pay for this
move even more quickly than we anticipated.”

The General Assistance offices had been located at 24th & Lake and 42nd & Woolworth. They will be closed Friday, September 23 and Monday, September 26 to accommodate the move.

The Primary Health Care Network (PHCN) will remain at the Douglas County Health Center Building.

The Veteran’s Services Office has been at 42nd & Pacific and the Juvenile Assessment Center was at Center Mall. They will be closed September 22, 23, and 26 and re-open September 27.
