Authorities in east Iowa say three people have been killed in a crash involving a vehicle and an empty school bus.
Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened Thursday morning near Louisa-Muscatine High School in Letts. The driver of a Nissan Sentra with two other passengers was traveling north on U.S. 61 when the vehicle lost control on the ice-covered road and crossed the center line. The car collided with a southbound school bus.
There were no students onboard but the bus driver was taken to Trinity Hospital in Muscatine. His injuries are unknown. The three adults in the Nissan were killed.
Authorities have not released the names of the victims or the bus driver.
