Thousands set out Sunday morning to raise awareness and funds for the American Lung Association by running or walking in the 32nd annual Omaha Corporate Cup.
Participants gathered downtown for the two-mile walk/run or a 10k. The race brought out runners of all ages and teams from corporations across the city. The runner who placed first finished the more than six-mile course in just under 31 minutes.
Participants say they like the course, even though it's relatively unchanged over the years. "The course is very linear, which is okay, so there's less turns in it and there wasn't really a hill until the end, but that last mile you have so much crowd support, so you use that momentum to really get going, use that towards the finish, so that was really fun,” said Eric Noel.
Channel 6 was a proud sponsor of the event and had our own team take part, including sportscaster Greg Ortiz.
