Downtown Omaha turned into a sea of pink Sunday morning in honor of those who've battled breast cancer. More than 15,000 turned out for the 19th annual Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure.

The 5K race and one-mile walk raises awareness and money for breast cancer research. Runners and walkers were dressed head to toe in pink. Alongside the runners were more than 1,500 survivors.

The Nelson family joined their grandmother, a five-year survivor. “It feels good to know that there is that many people that want to find a cure for breast cancer,” says Brennon Nelson. “It’s good to see all these people here."

This was Nebraska's second race of the cure. The other was in Kearney last weekend. In all, organizers say they raised more than $270,000 from individual donors.
