Thieves Pass Officer's Stolen Check

402-592-STOP (7867)

One of the biggest mistakes a thief can make, besides stealing in general, is to steal from a police officer. That's just what happened in Bellevue, now they are looking for help in identifying the suspects.

A red flag went up and the mail was stolen from a Bellevue police officer's house back in March. Despite a warning from her officer husband, the officer's wife mailed a bill.

A few days later, at the Target near 72nd and Dodge a woman passed the stolen check as her own, buying gift cards and other merchandise, totaling $250.

She left and got into a maroon sedan driven by a man who could be seen in the surveillance video exiting the store carrying a handbag.

Bellevue Police say both the woman and man are suspects and they would like help to identify them. Anyone with information is asked to call Sarpy County Crime Stoppers.
