Omaha taxpayers aren't on the hook for the cost to replace three golf carts stolen from a city course. Thieves, with apparent inside knowledge, broke into the Steve Hogan Golf Course storage garage and rolled the carts out under the cover of nightfall.
The carts were leased to the First Tee program. That means any insurance or replacement cost is contingent upon the contract between the leasing company and the First Tee.
Another burglary was caught on tape at the Dollar General at 56th & Ames. Three young men are seen on video breaking two front windows to gain access to the store. They jumped inside, grabbed cigarettes and air soft guns and left the store on foot.
A burglary victim in South Omaha told police that whoever broke into his house stole a bong and rolling machine. No other property was reported as stolen in that incident.
