Theft Victim Allegedly Lied About Shooting For Faster Police Response

It's one way to get police to hurry out on a call, but definitely the wrong way.

Omaha police raced out to investigate a reported shooting near Benson High School at 52nd and Maple around 7:15 p.m. Sunday. Officers searched for a victim, but couldn't find one. Reports said a theft victim had lied about the shooting in order to get police to the scene faster.

Police later handcuffed two men and took them into custody.
