This fall, the West will be on full display in Omaha.
Film Streams and Joslyn Art Museum will partner in November to present a special three-film series in conjunction with the museum’s ongoing exhibit, American Landscape: Contemporary Photographs of the West.
The Prints in Landscape film series will take place over three consecutive Tuesdays (November 1, November 8 and November 15), with discussions following each of the films.
Like the photography on display at Joslyn, the films in this series present cinematic views that not only depart from traditional Westerns but differ greatly among one another.
Post-show discussions will be led by Toby Jurovics, Chief Curator and Holland Curator of American Western Art at Joslyn Art Museum (Rancho Deluxe, November 1); a representative from UNO’s Office of Latino/Latin American Studies (Lone Star, November 8); and photographer Steve Fitch (The Last Picture Show, November 15).
