The Salvation Army is adjusting community cooling center schedules for people who need a break from the extreme heat.

Cooling stations opened June 24 and will remain open as follows:
Tuesday, July 16 through Friday, July 19 – 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
Kroc Center, 2825 Y Street
North Corps, 2424 Pratt Street
Lied Renaissance Center, 3612 Cuming Street
Council Bluffs, 715 N 16 Street (hours may vary, call ahead 712.328.2088)

Cold drinks will be provided to anyone seeking respite from the hot weather. Donations of bottled water are needed to support cooling center operations this summer. Cooling stations will open when temperatures reach 90 degrees or above for three consecutive days.

The Salvation Army is in great need of donations of new fans and bottled water, or money to purchase these items. To donate online, log on to GiveSalvationArmy.org. Bottled water and new fans can be dropped off any time of day at The Salvation Army, 3612 Cuming Street.
