The Iowa Board of Regents will consider a tuition freeze for in-state undergraduate students when members meet next week in Iowa City.
The board will meet Wednesday and Thursday and consider holding the line on tuition next year at the University of Iowa, Iowa State and Northern Iowa.
The board will also discuss student fees. Iowa State proposes no increase in the mandatory fees. Iowa proposes a $4 increase and UNI is seeking a $50 increase.
Under the university proposals, resident undergraduate tuition would remain $6,678 at Iowa and $6,648 at Iowa State and UNI.
Iowa and UNI are seeking a 2.6 percent tuition increases for out-of-state students. Iowa State wants a 2.35 percent increase.
